Preparation and Aftercare
I think tattoos should be personal and unique to the individual, so I'd really like to come up with something custom for you. If you've got your heart set on some flash that you've seen, and are aware that millions of people have that same tattoo, that's ok. I will not, however, reproduce someone else's custom tattoo. I will design something new for you, keeping the elements that you like about it, but changing it enough so that it's not plaguerism.
Once you have a solid idea of what you'd like, please contact me to set up a consultation. You can call me at 734-626-2701, or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please bring some pictures with you of what you like, either printed out or on a flash drive. Even a sketch will help me get a clear idea of what you're thinking.
To secure an appointment with me, you will need to leave a deposit. The deposit is subtracted from the cost of the tattoo. There will be a $20 deposit for something that doesn't take much design (lettering, flash, etc.), a $50 deposit for something that requires drawing and designing, and $100 for multiple session work. The deposit will be subtracted from the last session of your tattoo. There is no fee for consultations, but if you would like to make an appointment at the time of the consult, be prepared to make the deposit then.
I will touch base with you about a week to a few days before the appointment to make sure we are on the same page about your design and it will be ready for viewing at the time of your appointment.
On the day of your appointment, please make sure you have eaten and slept well. The healthier you feel, the better the tattooing process will go. Feel free to bring an ipod or a book with you, and wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing.
Your beautiful new artwork is actually an open wound. To avoid infection, wash your hands before any contact with it, and do not let others touch it. You'll be able to shower immediately, but do not soak it in a bath, swimming pool, or hot tub for at least two weeks.
Wash your tattoo at least 3 times daily with Dial soap, pat dry with a clean paper towel, and apply a very small amount of A&D or Aquaphor ointment.
In a few days, your tattoo will be itchy and peeling like a sunburn. Do not pick or scratch it, just keep it moisturized. Once it's done peeling, please keep it moisturized with an unscented lotion like Aveeno or Lubriderm. The healing process takes about 2 weeks.
I guarantee my work and do free touch ups for a year. Don't hesitate to contact me or stop in and set up a touch up session.
Your tattoo will look better for longer if you keep it moisturized and minimize sun exposure.
